| Volatile matter (incl. water)(%) | 0.3 | 0.4 | 0.5 |
| Apparent density(g/ml) | 0.45 | 0.42 | 0.40 |
| Retained on 0.25 mm sieve(%) | 2.0 | 2.0 | 8.0 |
| Retained on 0.063 mm sieve(%) | 90 | 90 | 80 |

| Residual vinyl chloride (VCM)(mg/g) | 8 | 10 | — |
A certificate of analysis covering the batch is issued with each shipment. The figures above are the specification for the grade level you order.
What the indicators mean
How each published figure affects the resin in your own process.
Foreign matter counted over a 40 cm² area. Even a few specks will cause visible defects in clear film or transparent sheet, so buyers running transparent work should specify the tighter figure.
Residual water and light volatiles. High levels cause bubbles, silver streaks and porosity in extrusion, and they also shift the final product weight on a scale.
Bulk density of the powder. Higher density means more resin per cubic metre of hopper, which changes feeding rate and the economics of a bulk delivery.
Coarse fraction held above 0.25 mm. A high value means a wider particle size distribution, which slows down the fusion step in extrusion and can dull the surface of the finished profile.
Fine fraction that passes a 0.063 mm sieve. Too much fines means dust, static and electrostatic problems at the hopper, and more regrind coming back into the line.
Inclusions in the resin that show up as visible specks in clear sheet. They are a defect in the polymer itself rather than a contamination issue, and they are what separates a premium grade from a standard one.
Trapped monomer left in the resin. It is the figure regulatory and buyer specifications always check, because it is both a health limit and the usual entry criterion in plastics and food-contact applications.
Typical applications
- Wire & cable insulation
- Concentrated plastisol compounds
Common questions
What grade level should I order for this grade number?
Premium if you run clear or transparent work and need the tighter impurity and fish eye figures; first grade for opaque rigid work such as pipe and profiles; qualified where cost dominates and the product has no cosmetic requirement. Every shipment ships with a certificate of analysis, so the level you order is the level the certificate reports.
What is the difference between this grade and the neighbouring grade?
The viscosity band. Higher viscosity means higher molecular weight, which raises mechanical strength but slows fusion and narrows the processing window. Neighbouring grades in the published table sit in adjacent bands; moving one step down fuses faster, moving one step up gives a stronger melt.
How do I confirm the grade I received matches this table?
Compare the certificate of analysis that ships with the batch against the specification for the grade and grade level you ordered. The batch number on the certificate ties the figures to the bags in the container. If anything is off, raise it in writing within 30 days of discharge.
Can this grade be customised with my additive package?
Grades are supplied with the published specification for the grade level ordered; additive packages on our side are confirmed in a quotation rather than published. If you need a custom formulation check, describe your application and we will confirm what is possible.
